An (common) innovation in greetings

al-Albaanee: "To greet everyone in the sitting and shake hands (With them) lacks evidence in the Sunnah. It is an innovation (I.e. to go around the ring shaking hands). The prophet used to greet once and sit down where the gathering ends" (Silsilat-ul-Hudaa wan-Noor 341)

Some of the salaf said..

Ibn Qayyim: "Some of the salaf said: "Sins lead to Kufr, Kisses to intercourse, songs to Zinah, a sight to falling in love, and a disease to death." (ad-Da', p.62)

They do it the opposite way

al-Albaanee: "These youth are misguided, they want to establish an Islaamic land without even being able to establish an Islaamic land in their own homes." (Silsilat-ul-Hudaa wan-Noor 337)

Abdullaah bin Dawood said:

Ibn Battah al-Ukbaree said:

And it is from the Sunnah to shun everyone who believed anything of what we have mentioned (i.e. of the innovations) , and to boycott him and to have hatred (maqt) for him and to boycott whoever allied with him, aided and defended him and accompanied him, even if the one who does that outwardly portrays (adherence to) the Sunnah

Abu Uthmaan Ismaa'eel as-Saaboonee said:

And they detest the people of innovations, those who innovate into the deen that which is not from it and they do not love them...

Shaykh Sulaiman bin Sahmaan said:

And know may Allaah have mercy upon you that his speech and whatever comes from the Salaf that is like it concerning the enmity towards Ahl ul-Bida' wad-Dalaalah, is (regarding) the misguidance that does not expel from the religion, however they were severe in that and warned from it due to two matters...
