Abu Uwais (Rahimullah) Hold On To What The Sahabah Were Upon

Taubah- a must in times of difficulty

Abdulilah Lahmami on His Recent Visit with Sheikh Rabee'

All praise is due to Allaah, i testify that none has the right to be worshipped except Allaah and that Muhammaad sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam is His slave and Messenger,

During the Hajj break, we saw Sheikh Rabee' Bin Haadi al-Madhkhali in his full house in fact it on the 4th or 5th of Dhul Hijjah 1432.

The Sheikh spoke about the blessed time of Hajj and that everyone should be sincere before they embark on this blessed pilgrimage upon the Sunnah.

He also mentioned that Hajj is a reminder of brotherhood and that the blessed time of the scholars before showed this brotherhood amongst themselves with kindness to each other.

The likes of Sheikh Bin Baz, Sheikh Al Albaani and Sheikh Muhammad Saalih Bin 'Uthaimeen rahimahumalllah, even when they differed in matters of Fiqh they showed utmost respect for each other.

Because they knew the value and status of Ahlu Sunnah.

Then the Sheikh supplicated for Ahlu Sunnah in Yemen, in particular Dammaj against the Raafidha.

He mentioned some history about the Raafidha and how they plot and plan against Ahlu Sunnah whereever they are.

Since coming back after Hajj to Madinah, Other scholars have all supplicated for Ahlu Sunnah in Dammaj against the Raafidha in a very difficult time for them, the likes of Sheikh 'Ubayd al-Jaabiri, Sheikh Muhammad Bin Haadi and others.

Likewise, in following the footsteps of the scholars, we ask Allaah to aid Ahlu Sunnah in Dammaj against the harms that the Raafidha may/have inflict(ed) on them.

May Allaah protect them and strengthen their resolve against the opporessive Raafidha, May Allaah have mercy on those that have died and make them Martyrs Ameen.

Ibn Taymiyyah rahimahullaah said that Ahlu Sunnah are most knowledgeable about the truth and most merciful to the creation.

Abu Uwais - A Call To The Non Muslim (About Islam)

The Difference between following the path of the salaf (pious predecessors) and the path of the Hadaadiyyah

Question: This questioner asks, “What is the difference between the path of the Hadaadiyyah and that of following the way of the first three generations of Muslims, and how can we distinguish between them?”

Answer: The difference between the two of them is the following: Concerning the Hadaadees; their founder is a man who is an individual who adheres to his desires, someone characterized by his jealousy, hatred, and contempt for the scholars. As for his life history, previously he was in Egypt before he came to this land of Saudi Arabia. He is someone well known for his acts of oppression and outrages against the scholars.

When he came to Riyaadh, he established himself here for seven years, but did not personally meet Sheikh Ibn Baaz, Sheikh al-Fawzaan, Sheikh at-Tuwayjaree, or any of the well known scholars of the Sunnah – never! And he did not take from the scholars knowledge of anything, due to the high degree of his hostility, self pride, and belief in his superiority.

Then he came to Medina with a specific goal and objective – that being to instigate trials. He came forward feigning submissiveness, with the guise of mildness and humility until such a time that he was able to obtain statements of recommendation from some of the scholars of Medina. Then he proceeded to gather a group of malicious individuals, and various rabble around him.

The people of knowledge in Medinah did not observe any distinguishing feature about him nor of those with him other than their rebellion and revolt against them, and against the scholars of the Kingdom. They attacked the scholars everywhere, to the extent that they attacked Sheikh Jameel ar-Rahmaan in Afghaanistaan directing attacks at him after his death through martyrdom, may Allaah have mercy upon him. And we hope that Allaah makes him from among His martyrs.

As their way is one of agitating, inciting, and rising up against the people of the Sunnah, their methodology, and their sincere advisors. By Allaah, indeed I advised them, and treated them gently, and debated matters with them in a manner that I hoped would enable them to return back from their false way. By Allaah, we did not wish any trials. However, they refused any way except that of rebellion, insitigating trials, and proceeding onwards as those who ruin and destroy matters through malicious speech towards the people of Sunnah. They would haphazardly say, “This one is a liar, and this one is a sinner, this one is that and that.' Additionally, they poured forth attacks against Haafidh Ibn Hajr, and Imaam as-Shawkaanee, claiming that they are to be abandoned, and occupying the Salafees with this matter to a degree that there has been no other parallel for!

One of the Salafees produced a written response to them, discussing and critiquing some of the writings and statements of al-Hadaad. So they sprang forth to attack this individual through audio cassettes and books! They attack in a devastating manner anyone from the people of the Sunnah who would write clarifications, by defaming them, assulting them, and slandering them.

Additionally, one of the youth refuted them when they attacked Sheikh Muhammad 'Amaan al-Jaamee', Sheikh Saaleh as-Suhaimee, Sheikh Muhammad ibn Rabee', Sheikh Rabee' ibn Haadee (myself). To myself, Rabee' Ibn Haadee, they attempted to attribute the authorship of that book which was written in defense of Sheikh Muhammad Amaan . Al-Haddaad, the known liar, swore by Allaah that the one who must have written that book was Rabee'!!

From their distinguishing characteristics is lying, corruption, and spreading hatred toward the scholars – attempting to bring them down; as well as self-aggrandizement while at the same time reducing and belittling all others. This continued until it reached such a level that some of them would say, 'It is for so and so and so and so – from the major scholars and people of knowledge – to go to the wife of al-Hadaad and to kneel at her hands and take knowledge from her.' In this way they became those who disrespected and spread contempt for the scholars, while also accusing them of truly being ignorant.

So, the one who possesses these characteristics, he is a Hadaadee. The one who revolts against the scholars, and attacks them, desiring to topple and bring them down through the means which we have mentioned, he is a Hadaadee. They are liars and deceivers, and slanderers, and when we clarified the deception of their Sheikh and their mistakes and falsehoods, they only increased in their extremism. So everyone who is similar to them, going to extremes regarding individuals, and rejecting the established proofs and evidences, and slandering the people of the Sunnah – then he is a Hadaadee, perhaps even worse than them.

Presently there is a group of individuals on the internet who are upon this way and pattern of behaviour. This group on the internet portrays the people of the Sunnah as being Hadaadees, while the characteristics of the Hadaadees are actually clearly found among those putting for the accusation! Meaning extremism, lying, rejection of the truth – this is exactly the way of the Hadaadees.

So understand this, and firmly comprehend these distinguishing characteristics which they possess. Such that it is clear that the one in whom these characteristics are found is from the Hadaadees, or is someone who is similar to or close to them, or perhaps someone even more evil than them.

The believer loves and respects the religion, values sound intellect, honours this methodology and path, and respects this connection to the path of the first generations. He does not surrender or place his intellect into the hands of the foolish for them to toy and sport with, and so playing and manipulating his religion. He does not surrender his religion for the sake of anyone, no matter who that person may be. By Allaah, he does not surrender his religion to another person, even if it be the most remarkable and significant of noteworthy individuals after the Noble Messenger of Allaah, upon him be Allaah's praise and salutations. Indeed, he does not surrender his religion to anyone.

Because unrestricted obedience is only for Allaah, and unrestricted allegiance is only to Allaah and the Messenger of Allaah, and to the noble Companions of the Messenger of Allaah, upon him be Allaah's praise and salutations, was engaged in or related. Likewise the Companions of the Messenger of Allaah collectively carried and conveyed the truth in whatever they were engaged in. But as for anyone else, then their case is not the same; at times they are correct and at times they are mistaken.

Extremism in the religion is from the most offensive and evil of characteristics. Likewise extremism in relation to individuals is also from the most offensive and evil of characteristics. The Messenger of Allaah, upon him be Allaah's praise and salutations, said,

Do not exaggerate in your praise of me as the Christians have exaggerated in the case of 'Isaa Ibn Maryam.

If the Messenger of Allaah, upon him be Allaah's praise and salutations, did not permit exaggeration in regard to him, then how can we now even approach exaggeration in regarding small, miniscule individuals! And we seek refuge in Allaah from exaggerating the status of deficient individuals and making them as if they were infallible giants and mountains, and so on! This is to be considered lying against Allaah and from extremism in regard to individuals, and extremism in the religion. We seek refuge in Allaah from these characteristics.

In this same manner, the Hadaadees have extremism towards al-Hadaad, elevating his position and status, while he is actually an ignorant, misguided individual who is both unsteady and confused. Yet they endorse and approve of him, my brothers! He has said, “I have for the past twenty years warned against the Muslim brotherhood organization, and warned against Sayyid Qutb”, and so on.

But we have not seen form him a single book nor heard from him an audio lecture in which he seeks to combat and strive against them. However, in relation to his reaching out to take up arms against the Salafees, then he proceeds like a savage lion. He actively writes about and produces and distributes audio lectures about them. Indeed, he wrote a small book regarding Sheikh al Albaani (rahimahullah), amounting to about 40 pages, which he filled with lies and corruption, which he entitled, “Five: The Introduction, The Conclusion, The Right, The Left, and The Heart.”

Fine, clearly this is like the efforts of an army, in attacking and engaging in combat. Then why didn't you direct such works towards the sect of the Raafidhah?! Why didn't you direct the work “al-Khamees” against the organization known as the Muslim Brotherhood?! Yet you claim that you have been warning against them for twenty years?! Why haven't you directed this violent army of effort towards them?! But instead you direct it towards Sheikh al-Albaani (rahimahullah), while he is the Imaam of the people of the Sunnah in this age?!?!

Likewise, presently there are tremendous attacks from them. Sheikh al Albaani is no longer here, so the attacks have turned to other than him; and certainly this is from the evident characteristics of the Hadaadees. There is currently a group of them, working on the internet. They presently engage in this fighting against the people of Sunnah. They still have the work “al Khamees,” of al-Hadaad, and they are fighting through books, audio lectures, and various statements, while they label the people the Sunnah as Hadaadees. They accuse me of having this disease, of being infected or tainted by it.

For that reason, we advise these individuals to repent to Allaah, to surrender their affairs to Allaah, to yield and comply to Allaah, and to honour the Salafee methodology and path, as well as to honour and respect their intellects and persons; otherwise they will encounter and be faced with a new affliction which is even worse than the affliction of the deviation of the Hadaadiyyah.

Equally from their distinguishing characteristics, is their lack of acting with mercy. Such that if we supplicate for mercy upon the likes of Imaam Ibn Hajr, or Imaam as-Shawkaanee, or Imaam an Nawwawi, they say, “Innovator!” If we say about Ibn Hajr “Haafidh,” they say, “Innovator!” We repply, “They are from the people of Sunnah, but are known to have mistakenly fallen into some aspects of the deviations of the 'Ash'arees.” But they say, 'No, it is required that you say that they are innovators. And if you do not state that they are innovators, then you likewise are also innovators!!' We reply to them, “Rather, if we were to only say that so and so Ash'aree, the meaning of this is that he was primarily upon their innovation in the religion.

Additionally, it is clear that the individual who wishes to speak courteously with good manners it is not always required that he states that so and so is an innovator. I have read to them from the biographies written by Imaam al Bukhaaree. We read the biography of Jaaabir al-Ja'fee, as well as others and we could clearly see that he did not explicitly state that they were innovators, while he knew clearly that so and so was from the sect of the Raafidhah. But he did not say about him he was an “innovator in the religion.” Because this is not a general or absolute requirement.

One should clarify their deviation in order to advise the people; however it is not required that you say explicitly “innovator” or even that “he is not an innovator.” But they rejected this from us. Similarly, individuals who are not of any significance have even called me from outside of the country and said to me, “What is your position towards Ibn Hajr?” I replied, “He is known to have aspects of the innovations of the Ash'aree sect.” He said, “Never could this statement be considered sufficient, you are astray!! It is required that you say he is an innovator!

So we see this among them, as well as them having other matters which I have not brought up but which are similar to these matters which we will further explain. Meaning, what are the distinguishing characteristics of the Hadaadees, and who are they? What are their principles and objectives? We will explain all of this, may Allaah bless you.”

We warn you against Injustice, from engaging in fabrications, and from transgressing against the honour of the ones whom you have a legitimate dispute

Shaykh Rabee' (hafidahullah) states in, “Sound Admonition: Advice to Sahab Internet Forum”: “ “...And we advise the administrators of these internet groups to adhere to the truth and to truthfulness within themselves, and to train and cultivate themselves upon this in their statements and deeds, and to distance themselves from political-type maneuverings which are based upon lying and deception. Similarly, we advise them not to use Islaam simply as a vehicle to achieve personal aspirations, worldly financial goals, or any political-type ambitions that they have.

Likewise, we advise them to hold closely to adhering to the methodology of Islaam in all of their various affairs – in their general dealing of their religion and with their Lord, their Prophet, his Noble Companions, and the scholars of this guided Ummah; and to give each of them their proper position and status, defend them against assaults upon their honour, and to feel offense and outrage towards the one who attacks the honour and position of any of them.

In addition, we also warn you against being extreme and exaggerating in honouring individuals, and venerating and elevating them above their position. You should remember the statement of Allaah, the Exalted:

“Oh people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Do not exceed the limits in your religion, nor say about Allaah anything but truth.” [Surah an-Nisaa:171]

And Allaah, the Exalted says,

“Say (Oh Muhammad): Oh people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Exceed not the limits in your religion (by believing in something) other than the truth, and do not follow the vain desires of people who went astray in times gone by, and who misled many, and strayed (themselves) from the Right Path.” [Surah al-Maa'idah:77]

And the statement of the Messenger, may Allaah's praise and salutations be upon him, “Do not exaggerate regarding me as the Christians have exaggerated regarding the Messiah, the son of Maryam.”

Similarly, we warn you against injustice, from engaging in fabcriation, and from transgressing against the honour of the ones whom you have a legitimate dispute with – if truly you stand upon the truth. Regardless of whether you are engaging in this in defense of the truth, while those whom you dispute with stand upon that which is false.

Indeed Allaah has forbidden injustice upon Himself and upon His servants. As is found in the authentic hadeeth which conveys the actual stated words of Allaah which were narrated by Imaam Muslim in his Saheeh, as well as Imaam al-Bukhaaree in his work, “Al-'Adab al-Mufrad”:

“Oh my worshippers, certainly I have forbidden injustice for myself, and I have made it something forbidden between you, so do not commit injustice.”

And even ahead of this is the statement of Allaah,

“Surely, Allaah wrongs not even of the weight of an atom, but if there is any good, He doubts it, and gives from Him a great reward.” [Surah an-Nisaa':40]

and His saying,

“And your Lord is not at all unjust to (His) slaves.” [Surah Fussilat:46] and so forth in many different verses indicate the prohibition of injustice. In addition to that, is the statement of the Messenger, may Allaah's praise and salutations be upon him,

[Beware of injustice, as indeed injustice will be darkness or punishment and suffering on the Day of Judgement]

Also, the statement of the Messenger, may Allaah's praise and salutations be upon him,

[Allaah gives respite to the oppressor, but when He seizes him, He never releases him.]

So the doing of injustice against the worshipping Muslim and transgressing against his honour – especially when he is from the callers to truth and the Sunnah – is from the most significant forms of injustice. Indeed, it is even more forbidden than the eating of wealth gained through charging interest, just as the Messenger of guidance and justice, may Allaah's praise and salutations be upon him, explained in his wise and just statement,

[Interest has seventy two different categories, the least of them is a man having sexual relations with his (own) mother. And what is considered even worse than dealing with interest is when a man intensly attacks his brother's honour.]

Also within another narration it states, [Worse than interest is that you abuse your brother' honour.] (Refer to Silsilat as-Saheehah of Sheikh al Albaani no.18710. And so forth, as found in other narrations which strongly stress the avoidance of violating the honour of the Muslims through injustice or the following of desires.

As such, I fear for the many of the people of blind passion and those conforming, foolish minded people, that they will fall into making it permissible to attack the blameless honour of those who are callers to the sunnah and the truth, and even more so than other individuals, who are also innocent and free from this action of theirs. Additionally he said, may Allaah preserve him, in, “Explanation of Some of the Statements from the Work of Ibn Rajab, the Difference between Giving Advice and Condemning”:

“If you criticize an individual then it is a requirement that you adhere closely to the truth, truthfulness, and sincerity, and that your goal be to clarify the truth, and warn from those errors which would invalidate or negate that truth. As if this is your goal then this is a noble objective and a tremendous matter of good which the entire Ummah should thank you for, and regarding which it is not permissible for anyone to accuse you of evil due to it. But if you have an evil objective in this, and it becomes evident through scrutiny and examination that you are actually an individual who is simply following his desires, then the people now have the right to speak regading you...”

...Haafidh Ibn Rajab, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said,

'Section: The one who you know that he intended with his statement of refutation related to the scholars, the offering of advice for Allaah and His Messenger, then it is obligatory that you treat him with generosity, and honour, and respect just like the other leading scholars of the muslims whom we have previously mentioned and those similar to them, as well as those who followed them in goodness....

Similarly, the one who you know desires through his refutation against someone to humiliate, blame, and simply to expose faults then he is deserving that you direct towards him reprimands or sanctions in order to restrain him and as well as in compensation for this forbidden act of corruption.' Shaykh Rabee' further explains this passage:

“And this latter act is what is done by the enemies of the people of the Sunnah and the Jamaa'ah, especially the people of the various groups and parties who have actively opposed the methodology of the first generations, and actively strive to give victory to the people of innovation and desires...but as for the scholars and the people upon guidance, then by Allaah they are only pleased when the truth comes to light even if it criticizes a mistake of one of them, yet clarifies to the people that this leading scholar is mistaken in this issue; then he is pleased.

Due to this we see that the students of these leading scholars did not hesitate ti clarify the mistake of their scholars, nor did they fight against those who opposed them in some of their own statements in which a mistake occurred. They truly considered this as something that those leading scholars would have been pleased with. They could never be pleased that the people engage in any form of worship based upon their mistake, nor could they ever be pleased that their mistake be attributed to Allaah, the Blessed and the Most High. They could never be satisfied with this because we are well aware of their sincerity, and their efforts to offer advice for the sake of Allaah and His Messenger, to His Book, the leaders and the general people from among the Muslims, may Allaah be pleased that someone says about them, “So and so is in error and has fallen in a serious mistake, and is misguided.” Not in any case, as they are astray and deeply entrenched in their deviation! They cannot tolerate criticism at all.

They are stubborn in their resistance, despite the fact that the people of the Sunnah and the Jamaa'ah continually clarify and explain to them that they are mistaken and going astray in the matter of such and such and the issue of such and such. The evidences are demonstrated to them yet they persist upon their falsehood, as well as gathering the people upon these misguided deviant thoughts and principles. They have no fear about the detrimental consequences which will result from their actions. Nor are they afraid of the severe accounting with Allaah that awaits them due to their calling the people to falsehood and leading them away from the path of guidance, because their hearts have become corrupted. And we seek refuge in Allaah from this.

Their desires have overcome them, and they are as was described by the Messenger of Allaah, may the praise and salutations of Allaah be upon him,

[There will be a people whose desires will spread among them just as the maddening disease of rabies spreads through dogs, and for the one infected there will not be a single one of his joints spared from being afflicted.]
(This hadeeth is mentioned by Ibn Abee 'Aasim in his hadeeth work “as-Sunnah” numbers 1 and 2, and it was ruled as authentic by Sheikh Al Albaanee (rahimahumullah) in his verification of the work)

From among the Machinations of Shaitaan: Meeting and Greeting Ahlul Bid'ah with Cheerful, Happy, Jovial Faces

Shaikhul Islaam ath-Thaanee Ibnul Qayyim, may Allaah have mercy on him said:

"And from among his repertoire of schemes and ploys – Iblees – is that he invites the slave (of Allaah) with his good character, cheerfulness and joyfulness to types of sin and wickedness.

As a result, he will meet and greet him (the sunnee) with that which will not enable him to rescue himself from his evil except his display of displeasure, giving an angry look and turning away from him.

So, the enemy will act kindly towards him, greeting him with joyfulness, a glowing face and beautiful speech.

Then, he will attach himself to him, and have a strong desire to save himself from his clutches, however will be unable to.

As a result, the enemy (Iblees) will continue to move among them (the deviant, innovator that works for Shaitaan and the Sunnee slave) until he achieves his desired goal.

Finally, he enters upon the slave with his plots by way of good character and a shining face.

It is for this reason, the 'Doctors of the Heart' have advised (us) with turning away from the People of Innovations, not extending to them the greetings of salaams and happy, glowing faces or even meeting them (at all) unless it is with gloominess and sternness!"

The Prophets Never Ordered Worship of Created Objects and Beings

What relationship is there in this to someone who fashions pictures of created things in churches, who extols them and seeks intercession from him whose picture he has fashioned?

Hasn’t this been the basis for idol worship among mankind from the time of Noah until now?

Prayer towards the sun, moon, and stars and prostration in their direction is a pretext for prostrating before them.

Not one of the prophets ever commanded the use of pictures or seeking intercession from their patrons or making prostration towards the sun, moon and stars.

Although it was mentioned about one of the prophets that he fashioned an image for the sake of general welfare, this is one of the matters on which the laws may vary; by contrast, prostration before them and seeking intercession from those represented was never legislated by a single prophet.

No one of the prophets ever commanded anyone to pray to someone other than Allaah, neither at his grave nor his absence, nor to seek intercession in his absence after his death.

By contrast, seeking intercession from the Prophet during his lifetime and on the Resurrection Day, and mediating one’s prayers through him and one’s faith in him, is something commanded by the prophets, as Allaah has said (Qur'an-10:18; 16:36; 21:25; 39:1-4; 43:45).

Shaykh Rabee's Advice to All those who speak in the Name of Salafiyyah

All praise is for Allaah and may the peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allaah, his family and his companions and whomsoever follows his guidance. Then to proceed:

Then this is an advice and a reminder for all those who speak in the name of as-Salafiyyah, but when the Imtihaan (test) comes and when spears and arrows are directed at its liver by Ahlul-Makr (the people of vile deception), the Ahlul-Fitan (the people of trials and tribulations) and the troublemakers, we do not find them being from its army nor from those who fight for it but rather we find from them oddity and strangeness.
Indeed there has appeared from those who claim as-Salafiyyah - who wait in ambush of it and its people - stances and actions which are in opposition to as-Salafiyyah, its Manhaj and its foundational principles which cause the hair upon the head to turn white (with grief).
From those positions and stances:

1) - Defence of the People of Major Innovations from al-Hulool, Wahdatul-Wujood (the Unity of Existence), Wahdtul-Adyaan (the Unification of Religions) , Ukhuwwatul-Adyaan (the Brotherhood of all religions), Masaawatul-Adyaan (the equality of all religions) as well as many forms of Shirk and superstitions. And bearing witness for them that they are indeed from Ahlus-Sunnah, rather the affair has reached such that some of their heads commend the haughty insolent despotic elders of the Raafidah and Soofees, and describe them with statements such as 'indeed they are trustworthy scholars' and praise their methodologies (Madhaahib). Moreover, upon all of that his ignorant followers still support him.

2) - Waging a wicked and oppressive war upon Ahlus-Sunnah, smearing them and marring their Manhaj and principles.

3) ý Inventing principles which conflict/contradict with the principles of Ahlus-Sunnah and their methodology in order to wage war with Ahlus-Sunnah and in defence of the people of those major innovations. For example [from those innovated principles]:

a) "We correct but we do not disparage".
b) Also: "The vast all-embracing Manhaj which accommodates Ahlus-Sunnah - according to their own technical term - and also accommodates the whole of the Ummah" but rather it encroaches and restricts the Ahlus-Sunnah and their Manhaj and their principles.
c) The Manhaj of al-Mawaazanaat.
d) The taking of Mujmalaat (the general spurious statements) of the people of misguidance upon their Mufassilaat (clear specific/detailed statements), whilst it is clear that these Mufassilaat (detailed statements) were held by them before these Mujmalaat (spurious/general statements).

And other such principles which Ahlus-Sunnah have condemned and clarified their falsehood and deviation.

4- And in order to evade (at-tamallus) the truth and to be firm upon their falsehood they have contrived:
a) The [false] principle - (Its not obligatory upon me).
b) Also the [false] principle - (It does not yaqanee (satisfy, convince, persuade) me.)
c) And waging war against the foundational principle of al-Jarh al-Mufassar (the detailed disparagement/criticism).
d) And the rejection of the report of trustworthy narrators (at-thiqaat).
e) And putting the condition of having a consensus [of the scholars] in tabdee (pronouncing a person to be an innovator) of any innovator. Even if/no matter if the proof and evidences have been established which necessitates/obligates their tabdee, and no matter what the status/level of the one who rules with that tabdee and even if they are many in number; if one person from the people of desires opposes them, then this tabdee is dropped (becomes null and void).
f) They have fabricated/contrived a principle to as-Subb (revile and insult) the companions of Muhammad (sallallaahu alaihi wasallaam) with the vilest of revilements and insults by describing them as al-Guthaa-iyyah (scum). When requested to excuse themselves from that they said: (It is not revilement, it's not revilement.) And they said: (if this wording emanated from a Sunni then it is not revilement and if it came from a Raafidee then it becomes revilement and insult.) And they have been staunch upon this since 1424H up until this day.

And these principles have become the fountains of Fitan like pieces (sudden amassing of clouds) of the dark night.
Accompanying all these calamities is arrogance, obstinate opposition and haughtiness towards those who advise them and clarifies their deviation and their mixed up confusion. Whilst with all these calamities, afflictions and other than that we still find those who commend them and declare that they indeed are from Ahlus-Sunnah. And the following are Prophetic Narrations I gathered together to remind those people so perhaps they will remember and withdraw/ be rebuked from that which they are upon.

1- On the authority of Qais bin Abee Haazim, who said:
Aboo Bakr ý may Allaah be pleased with him ý stood up and praised Allaah the Mighty and Majestic and extolled Him and then said: O people, indeed you recite this Aayah (Qur'anic verse):

{O You who believe! take care of your ownselves, he who goes astray cannot harm you when you are rightly-guided.}

And you put it in its improper place. For indeed I heard the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alaihi wasallaam) say: "When the people see an evil (al-Munkar) and do not change it, all of them are about to be punished by Allaah altogether."

This Hadeeth is Saheeh (Sound Authentic). It is reported by Imaam Ahmad in his Musnad (1/5), Aboo Dawood in his Sunan Hadeeth (4338, Ibn Maajah in his Sunan, [Chapter] Regarding the Fitan, Hadeeth (4005) and is also reported by other Imaams.

2- Also on the authority of Hudhaifah bin al-Yamaan ý may Allaah be pleased with him- on the authority of the Prophet (SallAllaah alaihi wasallam), who said: "By Him in Whose hand is my soul, certainly you will order with the good and forbid the evil, or else a punishment of Allaah is about to be sent upon you from Him and then if you were to supplicate to Him He will not respond to you."

This Hadeeth is reported by at-Tirmidhee in al-Fitan, Hadeeth (2169) and he said: This Hadeeth is Hasan (Good). But there is weakness in its chain of narration. And it is also reported by Imaam Ahmad in his Musnad (5/388).

And at-Tirmidhee declared the hadeeth Hasan due to it having two witnessing (supporting) narrations with a similar meaning which have a weakness in their Isnaad (chain of narration). One of them [witnessing narrations] is the Hadeeth of Aishah - radiallaahu anha - reported by Imaam Ahmad in his Musnad (6/159), the second of the two is the hadeeth of Aboo Hurairah - radiallaahu anhu - reported by al-Bazzaar in his Musnad (8508) and al-Khateeb in his at-Taareekh (13/92). And based upon the various routes (chains) the grading of this hadeeth is raised to the level of Hasan li-gayrihi. Al-Allaamah al-Albaanee has declared it to be Hasan in Saheeh al-Jaami (6947).

3- And on the authority of Ibn Mas'ood -radiallaahu anhu- that the Messenger of Allaah -sallallaahu alaihi wasallaam - said:
There is not a Prophet that Allaah sent to a nation before me except that he had Hawariyyoon (helpers) and companions who would betake with his Sunnah and follow his command. Then after them came people who would say (speak with) that which they do not do, and they do that which they are not ordered with; so whoever fights them with his hand then he is a believer, and whoever fights them with his tongue then he is a believer and he who fights them with his heart then he is a believer, and there is not even a mustard seeds amount of faith (Eemaan) left after that.

Reported by Muslim in [the Book of] al-Eemaan Hadeeth (50), Aboo Awaanah (1/35, 36) and Ibn Mandah in al-Eemaan (page 183, 184).

In these Ahadeeth is the clarification from the Messenger of Allaah -sallallaahu alaihi wasallam - to the danger of al-Munkaraat (the evils) of innovations and sins. And its danger and evil punishment is not just confined to those who perpetrate it, but rather it includes whoever Yudaahin (flatters and compromises) with its people and is amicable with them, and also it encompasses and includes more so whoever defends them (innovations) and its people. The affair becomes even more severe if he wages war against whoever forbids it (innovations) from the people of the truth, those well established within the boundaries set by Allaah, those who war with the people of Misguidance and Fitan (turmoil and trials).

4- On the authority of Nu'man bin Basheer -radiallaahu anhumaa- the Prophet -sallallaahu alaihi wasallam - said:
The example of al-Mud-hin (the compromiser) Allaah's Hudood (orders and limits) and (in comparison to) the one who violates them (Allaah's limits and orders) is like example of people who drew lots for (seats on) a ship. Some of them were on its lower part and others were on its upper part. So those that were on its lower part would pass by those in the upper one with the water which troubled them (the people in the upper part). Then one of them (the people in the lower part) took an axe and started making a hole in the bottom of the vessel. The people of the upper part came and said: 'What is wrong with you?'
He replied, "You have been troubled much by me and I have to get water." Now if they prevent him from doing that they will save him and themselves, but if they leave him (to do what he wants), they will destroy him and themselves.

Reported by al-Bukhaaree in his Saheeh, [the Book of] Shahaadaat (Witnesses), Hadeeth (2686), Imaam Ahmad in his Musnad (4/268,269), at-Tirmdihee in al-Fitan (2173), Ibn Hibbaan as in al-Ihsaan (297, 298).

The wording of this Hadeeth with Imaam Ahmad and at-Tirmidhee is:
The example of the one who abides by Allaah's orders and limits in comparison to al-Mud-hin (the compromiser) of Allaah's Hudood (orders and limits) is like the example of people who drew lots for (seats on) a ship at sea. So some of them attained the upper part of it and the others got the lower part. Then those on the lower part climb up/ascend to draw water to drink and they pour it upon the people on the upper part. The people on the upper part said: "We will not let you ascend and harm us." So those on the lower part said: "Then indeed we will have to bore into the bottom of the ship in order to get water to drink." If they prevent them and forbid them from doing that they will all be saved and if they leave them they will all drown.

Al-Mud-hin (the Compromiser): He is the flatterer who sees and hears al-Munkaraat (the evil) from the innovations and other than it and does not forbid from it. Rather he flatters and compromises with those who fall into it, perpetrate it and defend it. So how about if he goes beyond that to defending them, beautifies their image (present them in favourable light) and bears witness for them that they are from Ahlus-Sunnah. So how will he be, if he transgresses beyond all that by forsaking those who forbid from it, making the people think that they (Ahlus-Sunnah) are not upon the truth and are opposers to the correct Manhaj.

These stances encourage the perpetrators of these evils to remain upon their misguidance; it compels people with weak personalities to have good suspicion of them and to plunge them into their outstretched arms and to aiding and defending them. [These are] the affairs which have lead many people to turn away from the Manhaj of the Salaf as-Saalih in many different countries.

It is incumbent upon this type [of people] to fear Allaah. They should look again at and revise their stances with seriousness and sincerity. They should comprehend the dangerous effect resulting from their stances; for which they will asked about in front of Allaah ý The Mighty & Majestic ý on the day when no soul will be able to benefit another whatsoever.

Furthermore, it is incumbent upon them to look again to their Bitaanah (close friends and companions) with seriousness for indeed the matter is dangerous.

And I remind you of the statement of Allaah the Most High:
Friends on that Day will be foes one to another except Al-Muttaqoon (pious).[Surah Az-Zukhruf (43): 67]

O You Who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allaah even against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin. [Surah an-Nisa: 135]

And [I also remind you] with the statement of the Messenger of Allaah ýSalla Allaahu alaihi wasallam:
The Deen (Religion) is an-Naseehah (sincerity and sincere advising), The Deen (Religion) is an-Naseehah (sincerity and sincere advising)" he said it three times. They said: "To whom or Messenger of Allaah?" He said: "To Allaah, to His book, to His Messenger, to leaders of the Muslims and their common people."

I remind you with the Hadeeth of the virtuous Companion Jareer bin Abdullaah al-Bajalee ýradi Allaahu anhu - on the authority of Ziyaad bin 'ilaaqah who said: I heard Jareer bin Abdullaah stand and deliver a khutbah on the day al-Mugheerah bin Sh'ubah died saying:
Upon you is the taqwa of Allaah the Mighty and Majestic, sobriety and tranquility until the (new) Ameer comes for indeed he will come now.
Then he said: seek forgiveness for your Ameer for indeed he used to love pardoning (others).
And he said: To proceed: then indeed I came to the Messenger of Allaah ýSalla Allaahu alaihi wasallam ý and I said to him: "I want to pledge allegiance to you upon Islaam. So he put a condition upon me that I should (sincerely) advise every Muslim. So I gave him the pledge of allegiance upon that and by the Lord of this Masjid indeed I am to all of you a (sincere) advisor." Then he sought Allaah's forgiveness and descended (from the pulpit).

Reported by al-Bukhaaree in his Saheeh, [the Book of] Faith (al-Imaan), Chapter: the statement of the Prophet ýSalla Allaahu alaihi wasallam -:
"The Deen is sincerity to Allaah, His Prophet, the leaders of the Muslims and their common people"
and the statement of Allaah the Most High:
If they Advise for Allaah and His Messenger Hadeeth (58). And Imaam Ahmad (4/357). And also reported by al-Bukhaaree in [the Book of] Faith (al-Imaan), Hadeeth (57), and Muslim in [the Book of] Faith (al-Imaan), Hadeeth (56) both of them reported it in summarized form.

I remind them with that which is in these Aayaat and Ahadeeth from the obligation of establishing the sincere advice to Allaah, His Book, His Messenger, the rulers of the Muslims and their common people. And with that which they contain from the obligation of forbidding the evil and the severe threat for those who do not establish these obligations and do not forbid the evil.

And I say to them as Jareer said: By the Lord of this Masjid indeed I am to all of you a sincere advisor." But rather I say: By the Lord of the Heavens and the Earth indeed I am to them a (sincere) advisor.

I remind them of the statement of Anas ý radia Allaahu 'anhu - : "Indeed you do actions which in your eyes are considered more finer than the hair, whilst we used to consider them during the life-time of the Messenger of Allaah ýsalla Allaahu alaihi wasallam to be from al-moobiqaat (the destructive/deadly sins)."

Reported by al-Bukhaaree in [the Book of] Heart-Softening narrations (ar-Riqaaq), Hadeeth (6492), Ahmad in his 'Musnad' (3/157) and Aboo Y'alaa in his 'Musnad' Hadeeth (4207) and (4314).

And from my advice to them is that they should study the Manhaj of the Salaf as-Saalih from its sources and adhere to it and implement it upon themselves and others.

I ask Allaah that He grants them insight into that which they are ignorant of and thus erred in or done it with deliberate intent.

And may the peace and blessings of Allaah be upon our prophet Muhammad, his family and his companions.

Speaking ill of the Companions is From the Way of the Salaf? Shaykh Rabee' Clarifies...

Question: If someone in our times speaks ill of the Companions, do we say that his speech is similar to how some of the Salaf spoke about some of the Companions?

How do we refute this doubt?

Response: The one who speaks ill of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all) from the past, are the Khawarij and the Rafidha.

As for the people of the Sunnah, they did not speak ill of the Companions.

As for the predecessors of this person, they are the Khawarij and the Rafidha.

But the people of the Sunnah protected and safeguarded the honor of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all).

'Umar ibn Abdul 'Aziz mentioned that: (the Companions) are a people that Allah protected our swords from their blood, so we must protect our tongues from their honor.
